Visiting Ireland – Visa Requirements and Invitation Letters
Citizens of EU and EEA Member States, and the United Kingdom, do not require a visa to enter Ireland for the purpose of attending the
conference.
Participants
who are not citizens of the EU, EEA, or UK, should check the visa requirements applicable to their nationality before making travel arrangements. Information on Irish visa requirements is available from the Irish Immigration Service (www.irishimmigration.ie).
Please note that Ireland is not a member of the Schengen Area and Schengen visas are not valid for entry to Ireland. Attendees who require a visa must apply for, and obtain, the appropriate Irish visa before travelling.
If you require a visa to attend the conference, the organisers can provide a letter of invitation in support of your visa application. As visa processing times can vary between Irish Embassies and Consulates, attendees are strongly encouraged to contact the organisers and begin the visa application process as early as possible. As a guide, requests for invitation letters should normally be submitted at least three months before the conference, although longer lead times may be necessary in some cases.
Visa Invitation Letters
Under Irish immigration requirements, the conference team can only issue a visa support letter after your conference registration and payment are completed. In addition, we will need the following:
- Full name (as it appears on your passport)
- Full postal address
- Institutional Affiliation (where relevant)
These letters will be issued in electronic format only.
